HOW TO OBTAIN CREDIT

During the period February 28, 2021 to February 28, 2022, participants must 1) read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures; 2) study the educational activity; and 3) complete the posttest and evaluation form directly after the activity within a maximum of 60 days of participating in the activity. To answer the questions, click on your selected choice for each answer then proceed to the next question. Once completed, click on the Grade Exam button at the bottom of the page. Goal

The goal of this activity is to educate pharmacists about common ingredients found in dentifrices and other products for common oral conditions and prepare pharmacists to counsel consumers about oral health topics.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:

  1. Identify categories of common ingredients of dentifrice products and relevant counseling points for consumers seeking advice about oral health
  2. Given a clinical scenario, identify proper ingredients for patients with gum recession, periodontal disease, tooth sensitivity, and/or sensitivities to dentifrice/mouthwash ingredients
  3. Recognize information on how to advise patients with gum recession or tooth sensitivity on which whitening ingredients can be used safely and without adverse effects
  4. Given a clinical scenario involving an older adult, identify proper ingredients for management of patients with dry mouth and advise them on the use of dentures and other dental appliances
