To enhance pharmacists’ knowledge of contact lenses and contact lens care systems and provide strategies to educate and counsel patients who wear contact lenses

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Provide an overview of contact lenses;*
  2. Discuss the importance of good contact lens care;*
  3. Discuss the disinfection criteria required for multi-purpose disinfecting solution and multi-purpose solution;*
  4. Describe and categorize the various components of contact lens care systems;*
  5. Identify the potential complications and incompatibilities associated with contact lens care systems, including differences between branded and generic products;* and
  6. Describe strategies to enable pharmacists to educate and counsel their contact lens’ patients on contact lens care systems.
